Those of you who have been following the rebuild of chassis UWF1012 (LTM80G) following its unfortunate serious accident at the last Viborg Classic race in Denmark back in May 2025, will have seen just how much work was necessary to return this well known car to race ready condition again.

The decision to obtain 'used' front body panels instead of having new ones made, saved considerable cost and in some ways, time as well, but never the less the whole rebuild project was a major undertaking, given that the damage was extensive.
The oportunity was also taken by the Team to rectify some of the suspension issues that the car had inherited from its previous owners amendments and to return it to a better state of reliability. All in all, the rebuild has taken a year, with the objective to have the car ready to take its place on the grid again in this years Classic Race Viborg to be held over this coming weekend of the 22nd-24th May.
Pre-Race testing took place at the Padborg Park track in early May, where apart from the usual post-rebuild minor issues being identified, all went very well, giving the team a big boost of confidence for the race this coming weekend.
The Classic Race Viborg is not suprisingly held in the Municipality of Viborg which is located in the north of Denmark, on a closed road track around an Industrial area. The following map and pictures gives some idea of the 2.3 kms track, which incorporates a lot of long straights and sharp corners, which will test the cars brakes and traction.

The race weekend features Practice and Qualification on Thursday/Friday with Saturday hosting Heats 1 & 2. Sunday is the highlight of the weekend with Heats 3 & 4 and the Final Race.
Thankfully the weather forcast is looking promising for this weekend, so we are all wishing Michael and Unipower Team Denmark all the very best for a successful race weekend as reward for the huge efforts they have all made to ready the car for this historic race.
More on how the race weekend has gone in a future Blog on this website.
I must also thank Michael for his constant support of the Club and for providing regular updates and the photographs and vidoes, since he bought the car in 2024. His enthusiasum for the Marque has been fantastic.
