Well Guy has been diligently working away on the total rebuild of his 1969 chassis, which for those of you who have been following these blogs will know, required considerable replacement work to the tubular chassis and following some abortive body repairs, was clothed in a totally new fiberglass body made from the original factory moulds so as to maintain its originality.
But back to where Guy has reached in what has been a mammoth task, especially as he has insisted on replicating the cars original specification down to the correct thread and washer types used when built by the factory. Inevitably, some change has been necessary as you will see in some of the pictures but in essence, it is a close to original as possible given that these cars are now 60-years old. His attention to detail had extended to even to copying a pair of original chassis stands as used at the factory when the cars were built, on which to rebuild his car !.
Without going into fine detail on each picture, hopefully you will get the idea of just how good this car will look when totally finished and as will be presented on the Club's stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show in November following its 5-year restoration. Painted in the same colours, as a homage to the car specified and purchased by his father Jeff Monty back in 1969 when he was a sales agent for Unipower based in Edenbridge, Kent.
More detail will be forthcoming over the next couple of months, when the car will finally completed and running again for the first time for over 9-years.

Thanks Gerry .

Looks superb. I was the fortunate one who got this car from Geoff and Guy when they scoured the country for a nice model for me! It's nice that it came home to Guy and delightful to see that it is now in such excellent care!
