Taking a well travelled Road/Race chassis back to its original colour and spec

ree

Since acquiring the car from its previous owner in Sweden, its new owner Jim, has campaigned the car in many Vintage race events in both his native Canada and the USA.

However in 2025, Jim decided to restore the car back to its original colour, as when it left the factory in 1967, this being Ferrari Red. Whilst achieving this, Jim was also determined that as many of the external parts should also be returned to original, the rear lights for instance having been substituted with units similar to the later facelifted rear lights, but had been fitted horizontally and not recessed into the body, as on the later cars. Jim managed to find some new/old stock of the Vauxhall Viva HA lights as well as the correct windscreen and fitment rubbers. The rear screen was restored to look like new and again refitted with the correct securing rubber moulding.

As can be seen from the pictures, Jim is gradually working his way through the car and when finished will look superb and be even more striking on the circuits.

We look forward to seeing the completed restoration in the not too distant future.

Terrific to see real TLC being applied to another car. Well done. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Jim's car is looking beautiful! I thought he bought it from Duncan in the US - did it go to Sweden in between?
