This Universal Power Drives, RHD production Road version was delivered to its first owner in England on the 1st February 1968. Originally painted Silver Blue and fitted with a 998cc Cooper engine/gearbox, Cosmic Alloy wheels, Heater/Demister unit and the all important factory fitted Webasto sunroof, the car was subsequently painted in Blaze Red (the car has been recently repainted). Its original engine gearbox has been replaced at some time in the past and replaced with a 998cc Mini unit fitted with a standard 4-speed gearbox using Quinton Hazel universal inner joints. Whilst the engine retains the correct twin 1-1/4" SU carburettors, there is evidence from the modifications to the rear boot, that a side draft Weber was once fitted. The rear window has been changed for a dark tinted version with twin-rear vents. The wheels are now Dunlop alloy wheels as were fitted to the later production cars. Rear lights have also been changed for non-production units. Mileage cannot be verified as the speedometer has been changed for one reading in kms per hour and currently reads just 18 kms.
