This would be the third occasion that my ex-Works race car # 766.2 would take part in the Legends event that took place on this occasion, before the start of the 24hrs of Le Mans in June 2007. Having previously been privileged to have taken part in 1994 and 2002, every participation is fantastic but on this occasion, my youngest son Miles would be driving. As the youngest ever driver in the British GT Championship, competing in Ferrari's and Porsche, as well as being a BRDC Rising Star, he had more than enough experience to take up the challenge.
The weather was a mix of sunshine, cloudy and rain !, but of the many years I've been to Le Mans, its usually wet or very hot. Dry for the event that day, but It was to rain of course for the 24hrs !.
The experience that year was to have an unexpected finale, as the camera crew from the Audi Channel took time out to look over my car in Parc fermé when I was away, although my two sons were by the car and became part of a short part of an Audi promotional film they were making that year, made all the more special for them when Audi won Le Mans that year in their R10 TDI diesel.
